6 years ago, the local factory of a large auto manufacturer asked INS to quote for installation of a new CCTV system, to comprehensively cover their large factory floor, stores area, and delivery depot. The company had been having issues with lost time incidents, with little knowledge of the factors that led to the incidents. The company operates a large factory floor, with 6 very large production machines that require human intervention and checks at certain locations.
INS visited the site and after extensive discussions with the company regarding the areas that they wished to be able to monitor, INS provided a full quote. The quote was to install a 32 channel NVR, 25 cameras (static bullets, small domes, speed domes and 360-degree fisheye), network switches, and ethernet structured cabling to the cameras.
INS utilized our IPAF licenses, operating scissor lifts to take advantage of high-level cable trays that were already available. 360-degree fish-eye cameras were installed above the most important of the large machines, which have multiple locations where employees are required to monitor the machine. INS installed HikVision fish-eye cameras, of which the images can be “de-warped”, to provide a flat image which can be zoomed into to see more detail, whilst still recording the full field of view that a fish-eye camera provides.
The auto manufacturer has been incredibly pleased with their interactions with INS over the 6 years, and INS provides them with support through a support contract. The company asked INS to maintain the systems and install more cameras over this time and recently requested a visit and quote by INS to one of their other factories, which INS have been happy to help with.
